Here are some news and updates for Sunday, July 1 [Week 11 of 16]

PRACTICES MOVED BACK TO THE OLD UM OUTDOOR TRACK THIS COMING WEEK

Due to the annual (MHSAA) mandated break from sports-related activities at high-schools across the state the first week of July, we have to vacate Pioneer High School and move track practices back to the (old) University of Michigan outdoor track (1150 S State Street) for the coming week:

- Monday, July 2 [this practice is for all athletes in the club]

Tuesday, July 3 [this practice is only for the Travel Team athletes training for the AAU & USATF Junior Olympics Regional and Nationals] - Thursday, July 4 [this practice is also for all athletes in the club]

All three (3) of these practices will be at the normal time of 7-9 PM.

There is no practice on Wednesday, July 4 due to the (USA) Independence Day holiday

We move back to Pioneer High School on Monday, July 9.

PRACTICE LOCATIONS (PIONEER VS UM)

Some parents have been confused about the practices at Pioneer High School and the ones at UM, so let me try to clear this up:

The Tuesday practices (every Tuesday through July 24) are only for the Travel Team athletes training for the AAU and the USATF Junior Olympics Regional and National Championship meets. All the Tuesday practices will be at the old University of Michigan outdoor track (1150 S State Street).

The practices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (through July 26) are for all athletes in the club, and with the exception of the practices on Monday July 2 and Thursday July 5 (which will be at UM), all the other practices will be at Pioneer High School.
Again — no practice on Wednesday July 4 due to the holiday.

TEAM UNIFORM ORDERS

There has been a delay with many of the new team uniforms that were ordered earlier in the season. All the shorts are ready for pick up, with the exception of four (4) pairs of shorts that are on back-order. And all the tops are still 3-4 weeks away from delivery. I am going to pick up all the items that are ready and I’ll bring them to track practice this coming week (at UM).
